What is inflammation?
Inflammation is part of our body’s response to stress, injury, and infections. This helps initiate the

healing process to the problem area by repairing tissue and fighting off what shouldn’t be there. However, sometimes your body can occasionally get stuck on this stage of the response for a variety of reasons. Some examples of this include ongoing infections, autoimmune disorders, metabolic stress, environmental triggers, or simple unhealthy habits.
When inflammation becomes chronic it can cause additional issues such as fatigue, digestion issues, brain fog, pain sensitivity, blood circulation and clotting complications. Lastly, it can delay healing both physically and medically.
How can you manage it?
The good news is you can take charge of your health to combat inflammation and the complications it comes with. Some examples include:
Diet - focus on consuming rich nutrients such as fiber, antioxidants, magnesium, and omega-3. They help in the fight against inflammation existing in the body.
Exercise - aside from weight loss, those that exercise regularly tend to have lower baselines of inflammation.
Treating Medical Conditions - life gets busy and going to the doctors may not be the first thing on your busy agenda. Unfortunately, the longer an issue goes untreated the more likely you are to experience chronic inflammation. Your body is trying to fight something off- help it out!
Herbs - incorporating herbs such as turmeric, ginger, or cayenne pepper in your meals or teas can also assist with inflammation.
Take charge of your health today by making small changes in your daily routine. Should you have further medical questions, always consult your doctor. If you have concerns that physical therapy can help with to kick start your journey, please reach out.
